Apex Family Care was built on a simple belief: children and families deserve support, stability, and the opportunity to move forward—together. From the beginning, our work has been rooted in compassion, community, and a commitment to creating better outcomes for those we serve.

  • We saw families facing challenges that were bigger than they could manage alone—housing instability, financial hardship, and a lack of support systems.

    Too often, these challenges led to separation. Not because families didn’t care, but because they didn’t have the resources or support they needed in difficult moments.

    We believed there had to be a better way—one that focused on strengthening families, not separating them.

  • Apex began by providing foster care services, offering safe and supportive homes for children when they needed it most.

    But even in those early days, our focus went beyond placement. We worked to create stability, maintain connections, and support families through some of the most challenging times in their lives.

  • As we listened to families and partners, it became clear that support needed to extend beyond foster care alone.

    Apex expanded to provide more comprehensive services that meet families at different points in their journey, including:

    • Integrated Family Care, created in 2015, to help prevent unnecessary family separation

    • In-home services, including supervised visitation and family support

    • Family stability and transitional services, including triage stays, emergency shelter, and semi-independent living

    • Developmental disabilities services that promote independence and community integration

    • Training and education for foster parents, providers, and community partners

    What began as a foster care-focused organization has grown into a broader system of support—designed to meet families where they are and provide the right level of care at the right time.

  • As our work evolved, we began to see gaps in how families were being supported—especially those at risk of separation due to instability, not safety concerns.

    This led us to develop more proactive, prevention-focused approaches. Integrated Family Care became a key part of that evolution, reflecting our belief that families are stronger when they are supported, not separated.

    That same philosophy continues to guide how we approach every service we provide today.

  • Today, Apex Family Care provides a range of services that support children, families, and individuals across Nebraska.

    Our work spans prevention, intervention, and long-term support—helping families build stability, strengthen relationships, and move forward with confidence.

    While our services have grown, our purpose has remained the same: to walk alongside those we serve and provide meaningful, lasting support.
